Wilfred FX Illustrated Poster

This project was created as a personal promotional project for the U.S. television show "Wilfred" on the FX Network (Official Wilfred FX Site). My goal was to mimic a large format screenprinted poster while sticking to a strict 6-color palette (with a background paper color) and children's book illustration style. The layout was meant to capture some of the odd humor and iconography from the show through imagery inspired by minimal/vintaged graphics. Created digitally, the full illustration is 18x24" in size.

This illustration was created for the BUCKBUCK Gallery show "Art Of The Game: A Celebration Of Art & Basketball". With a collaboration between the Ohio City based creative gallery "BUCKBUCK" and the Basketball centered art blog "Double Scribble" this show was meant to showcase how Basketball has become a modern symbol for creativity, style and fashion across the world. This 4-color illustration, inspired by vintage packaging/advertising was meant to take a fun, child-like look at the game of Basketball through simple shapes and textures. Created digitally for print use, the full illustration is 11x14".Character Design, Digital Art, Illustration2012 -

This book/poster were made to express the complications of growing up with a false tooth. Using color, typography, and texture I told my story and expressed the bitterness I felt throughout the experience. I made a 22" x 32" poster and a hardcover book with 10 individual spreads. Here is a portion of the final piece.Graphic Design, Print Design, Typography2012 -

Unique font made from a pair of sunglasses that I scanned and vectorized, then used the final font to create this book/poster. The book has simple layouts to show the font attributes/personality and it unfolds to a 16" x 32" poster.Graphic Design, Print Design, Typography2012 -
This piece was an exploration of book binding. The cover is made from skateboard grip tape and the binding is skateboard truck hardware. The edge is sealed with a shoelace to fit the skateboard theme, and the inside cover is wood grain color further the appearance of a blank skateboard deck . The inside content is filled with interesting cropped sections of skateboard magazines that I've collected throughout the years to see my influences for art through the skateboarding culture in the media today.Crafts, Fine Arts, Photography2012 -
Abstract India Ink composition made using string, water, and cut sections of paper. I dragged the string through the India Ink to create the lines and used watered down ink to create the variations of color. The top section was made by letting the ink drip freely, cutting it out, and letting it hang freely across the layout.Crafts, Fine Arts2012 -
